Stephen B King – Glimpse The Angel Shot
Seven women have disappeared from bars only to be found murdered after asking for an Angel Shot. Detective Rick McCoy is handed the case after returning from leave following his wife’s horrific ordeal at the hands of the serial killer, PPP.
Criminal psychologist Patricia Holmes lost her husband to the same killer and when her current partner makes her life miserable she jumps at the chance to work with Rick again. When they determine a man currently jailed for the crimes could not have committed them, the mystery deepens.
But that is the least of Rick’s worries. An imaginary alter ego appears warning him his wife is suicidal. Will they be able to solve the riddle of the Angel Shot before another victim loses her life and save his wife from taking hers?

Once again, Stephen B King has not let us down. Like the other stories in this series, Rick and Pat are working together to hunt a serial killer.
The antagonist is a unique and vile monster preying on lone women who’ve just had a frightening experience with a date gone wrong and are left in a vulnerable situation.
King has a talent for letting us into the mind and memories of the killer without giving away his identity. He makes this depraved individual human, but damaged by his past relationships and events. We may not like this character, but we understand why he feels compelled to do the things he does. You could say he’s someone you love to hate.
Also, the secondary story line is just as tense and concerning to the reader as the main story. It’s a can’t-put-down book on many levels. Here’s one example for people who’ve read the previous stories – just one word – Jolly. And there’s so much more going on in Rick and Pat’s private lives.
Not only does this story make you wonder who the killer is, it makes you desperate to find out.
I’d never want to give away the end, but I’ll say this – the plot twist toward the end nearly knocked me out of my chair. When I finally discovered who the killer was, I was astounded. That doesn’t happen often for me.
As a side note: If you haven’t read the other Glimpse books, you really should. If you love well written crime, murder, mystery, suspense, and drama – this is the series for you.
This story is worthy of a truckload of stars, but sadly, five is all I have to give.
